On the occasion of Terra Madre Day (December 10), an event will be organized in collaboration with the Herat Directorate of Agriculture, farmers, restaurants, and the private sector. Entitled “Local Food and Biodiversity Festival”, the celebration will showcase the rich diversity of Herat’s traditional and local dishes, reflecting the region’s cultural and food heritage. The festival aims to promote healthy eating, support local farmers, strengthen connections between farms, markets, and restaurants, and raise awareness about the vital role of biodiversity in food security and sustainable development. Beyond celebrating local flavors and traditions, this event will also create a bridge between the global values of the Slow Food movement and the unique experiences of the local community.
