Olive's Journey in the Aegean

One of our Climate-Resilient and Nature-Friendly Olive Growing workshops will be held as a Terra Madre Day activity this year, in Gömeç-Balıkesir in cooperation with Gömeç Olive Producers Association, Gömeç Municipality and local Slow Food organization Slow Food Ölmez Ağaç. These workshops are a part of our project called Anatolivar that we carry out in cooperation with Slow Food and UZZK (National Olive and Olive Oil Council) Here, we aim to explore how nature-friendly olive growing can be possible in the age of the climate crisis. We’ll discuss topics such as the importance of conserving local olive varieties, organic farming, agro-ecological olive growing. Also farmers and olive and olive oil producers will share their experience in a forum with participants.
