Seeds of Resilience: Preserving Our Food Heritage

Our Terra Madre Day event is about celebrating indigenous seeds, preserving our food heritage and growing resilience for future generations. Through seed storytelling, practical seed-saving demonstrations and a farm learning experience, participants will explore the importance of preserving indigenous crop varieties and traditional knowledge. Drawing on the Kasambara Youth Slow Food Garden community seedbank, the event will bring together farmers, youth and community members to share knowledge, reconnect with our food heritage and explore how indigenous seeds and agroecological practices contribute to climate-resilient food systems. Together, we celebrate the seeds that nourish us, connect us to our heritage and hold possibilities for our future.
