Celebrate Eating Locally
Terra Madre Day is Slow Food's Global Day of Action for food that is good, clean, and fair for all.
Every meal tells a story. A story of farmers, fishers, food artisans, cooks, Indigenous peoples, activists, and communities whose care and knowledge sustain the food we share.
Terra Madre Day is the moment to share this story with the world. Held every year on December 10, is a day to celebrate the people behind our food, strengthen the bonds of solidarity that unite local communities across continents, and reaffirm that real change begins when people come together around a shared table and vision.
Connect, celebrate, and take action. Organize a Terra Madre Day event and bring people together around food. Host a shared meal, a market visit, a community gathering, a seed exchange, a farm tour, a cooking workshop, or a conversation about the future of food. Invite producers, cooks, friends, neighbors, schools, and local organizations. Every event is an opportunity to strengthen your local community while becoming part of a global movement rooted in solidarity, care, and collective action.
