Cinnamon Quest

A Slow journey to the natural habitat of Cebu's native cinnamon - KANINGAG, our spice heritage. The Philippines, once a key route of the ancient spice trade pre-collonial times has a long-standing history with spices that shaped our culture, cuisine and commerce. Today, despite centuries of change, a few surviving Kaningag trees thrive within Cebu's fragile forest cover. This initiative is not just a celebration but a call to action. It reminds us that safeguarding these levels ving treasures is essential not only for biodiversity but also for cultural memory and food heritage. It is also a chance for the younger generation to rediscover the richness of our land and understand why species like Kaningag is worth protecting.
