Bucharest Food Conversations

Bucharest Food Conversations – From Surplus to Supper is a pilot event that brings together key actors from Bucharest and its metropolitan area to reflect on the local food system through practice and dialogue. Hosted at the Food Bank of District 6 and supported by Slow Food / Terra Madre Day, the event combines three moments: a Food Fresk workshop to explore how food, climate, health and social justice are interconnected; community cooking using surplus and donated vegetables and fruit; and an open, facilitated discussion on how to improve access to local, healthy and fair food. The aim is to move beyond isolated projects and start building a shared space where civil society, producers, professionals and public authorities can meet, listen to each other and co-design concrete next steps for a more just and resilient city-region food system.
