Youth supported local food in Urban Area

Communal Lunch Together (Jajan Ngariung) : Concept: Not just lunch, but a live demonstration of how clean, good, and fair food can be realised in everyday Betawi dishes. Slow Food presentation based on Betawi culture: Main Menu: Prepared by the Betawi community that supports sustainable farmers. 1. Rare Babanci Vegetables: Serving rare dishes rich in Betawi spices, with an emphasis on using local ingredients from nearby gardens/markets. 2. Organic Nasi Uduk: Using rice from local farmers who practice organic farming. 3. Drinks: Pletok beer, freshly made from spices, served in the morning session. Table Discussion: During the meal, a facilitator leads a light discussion about the origins of the ingredients on their plates, why local food is important, and how Betawi flavours are threatened by food industrialisation. Zero Waste: Encouraging the use of reusable tableware (banana leaf plates or ceramic plates) and composting food scraps.
